Good Clean Fun

Our sweet Hannah has a bent toward 'tidying'. :-) She seriously loves to clean or maybe she just loves to do what all the big people in her life are doing. At any rate, at any given time of the day, you can find her helping us out of a mess. Sometimes, it's the mess she helped create. Hmmm. As cute as it is, it can sometimes be frustrating for her mama to always take the time to work with her. Vacuuming always takes twice as long because she must help. I don't know that it's really 'normal' for a two year old to see a mess on the floor and get the broom and start sweeping. That's our Hannah, though. I believe Emily is gonna be teaching her how to clean the bathroom very soon. Emily's catching on to the whole idea of working ourselves out of our jobs! LOL It's not just sweeping and vacuuming, either! She loves to do dishes and wipe things, any thing. Just give her a damp rag and she's occupied for a long while. I really do try to encourage her even when it is more work in the long run. Maybe I have made things worse by singing 'helping' songs with her name in them. She loves to hear me sing about her.

Here she is on a Sunday night vacuuming up the cereal that Samuel dumped on the floor.

She has great initiative! She saw the flour on the floor, got the broom and started sweeping up.

Then, she got the mop.

She's not cleaning here, but just another example of how much she watches us and how she wants to do all the things we are doing. She is such a delight to me as she is already learning how to be a keeper at home and that she really seems to find joy in the little tasks we allow her to do. We have a child sized hoe and Hannah has been watching us use the big one. We've only lost a couple of corn plants to her helpfulness! :-)

Here she is helping Abigail make Strawberry Jam. If anyone is in the kitchen doing anything, Hannah wants to be right there helping.

Thank you, Lord, for our sweet, helpful, tidy Hannah!
