Seth is 8!

My little valentine is 8 years old. Born just a few hours before Valentine's Day in 2001, maybe that is why he has always been such a sweetheart. We surprised Seth by picking up his friend, Jacob after school to come over for the evening. We got pizza (again!) and Aunt Katie and Aunt Jessie came over to help us celebrate.

Emily wowed us with her brand-new decorating skills. She baked and decorated Seth this two-layer round cake that everyone thought turned out fantastic! I think you will agree. It is amazing for a beginner. Seth was impressed. He told Jacob that Emily had made it for him. Jacob was impressed, too. I am happy to leave the cake decorating to Emily!

The gifts were classics for an 8 year old boy. A baseball and bat (from his brother and sisters), legos (thanks Aunt Katie!), money (thank you Jacob!) and a new bicycle (from mom & dad). Nana & Papaw sent him some money, too. He used that to order a knight set. (You know, a shield, sword, helmet, etc.) It should arrive this next week.

Here is a video of Seth *finding* his bike. He wanted to play baseball, so we all walked outside, Jeremiah opened the bat and ball and promptly threw the ball over by the van to where the bike was hidden.

Now, for those of you who enjoy Abbott & Costello's classic "Who's on First" baseball sketch, you will enjoy this video of the kids and Katie and Jessie playing baseball. Especially watch and listen for Abby towards the end. She is playing first base but has no clue what she is supposed to do. The ball is thrown past her and she is standing there asking what she should do. It's so cute.
