Hannah @ 15 months

Hannah was 15 months old on Saturday and it seems to me that she is growing up so very quickly. Maybe it's because I don't really see her as the baby now that I'm half-way through this pregnancy and we all speak of "Baby Samuel" on an almost daily basis.

I have recently begun training her to have a 15-minute (eventually working up to 1/2 hour) play time alone each morning during school to help her learn to occupy herself and she is doing well with that. When you are #5 in the family there's no lack of someone to play with you so learning to play alone is a big thing! She is signing "all done" and "please" and we are working on "thank you". She loves to blow kisses and give kisses but the cutest thing is to watch her at church walk around and shake hands with our church family. Hannah still only says two words but we can definitely tell that she understands us.

She is such a girly girl. She loves to wear shoes and has recently begun dressing herself with whatever clothing she finds. Sunday night before church, she was all dressed and insisted on putting on another dress over what she was wearing and she was very upset that we wouldn't let her wear both dresses to church. (Did I mention she has a bit of a stubborn streak?)

She loves to sing and her favorite right now is "If You're Happy and You Know It". She loves to stomp her foot and clap her hands. She reminds me so much of Emily at this age as she is very inquisitive and curious and she loves to be outside.

Hannah is also becoming quite a Daddy's girl. On Friday, he was home and copying some of his old gospel tapes onto his computer and she wandered into the office, pushed his chair around and lifted her arms up so he would pick her up and she sat with him for a good while just listening to the music. Most days when he gets home from work, she follows him around waiting for him to put his stuff down and wash his hands until he finally picks her up for hugs. He really loves that she is "his" girl.
