A Week of Blessings

Whew! We had one super busy week. Our church's annual mission conference
started on Wednesday night and we have been going non-stop ever since. Dinner
and meetings at church every night, friends staying with us, and getting to
fellowship late into the night with missionaries has been such a blessing to us.
The Lord has really laid it on our hearts recently that we need to be showing
more hospitality and taking more opportunities to open our home to those around
us. The children have greatly enjoyed this! We had two families in our home this
week, both with children older than our own, but what an encouragement that was
to our children to see other large families enjoying one another and serving the
Lord together. These older children played with our youngsters and well, Hannah
didn't have to crawl most all week, as there were always arms ready to hold her.
We were so blessed this week. Last night as the last family pulled out of the
church parking lot and we headed home, Jeremiah said, "It's bittersweet." He was
referring to making new friends and seeing them go. We've been on the other side
of it (as the missionary kids) and it's hard either way. Jeremiah has been
wanting us and the children to sing in church and one of the songs we had been
practicing was appropriate for our mission conference so we had decided to sing
it Saturday evening. It turns out that one of the missionary's daughters could
play it and she accompanied us on the piano. Thank you, Lord, for providing the
music. Here's a picture of some of my kids and some of the Inman kids jumping rope on Thursday morning.
