Swing Set Makeover (Day 2)

The building crew

Papaw was up early this morning and eager to get started building the new swing set. I think you can see that much was accomplished today. There were showers in the forecast for this afternoon, but after a very brief, light shower this morning the clouds gave way and it turned out to be a beautiful day. God is good to us. Papaw has the childrens' safety in mind and is very meticulous about details. He also likes to make things look nice.
We are so very thankful for his help.

Surveying the building site.

Getting things ready to set the posts.

Making sure it is level and squared up.

Jeremiah and Seth worked together to get all the deck boards attached.

Seth was really enjoying being able to use the drill.

After they finished the deck, they started putting up the top braces.

"Measure twice, cut once." Actually, I think he measured 3 or 4 times, just to be safe!

Getting the new saw ready for it's first use.

Papaw is always making sure that everything is "on the level."

Cutting the posts to the right height.

Finishing up the first side as Papaw looks on with approval.

Samuel hung out on the back deck for a little while today. We are lovin' the sunshine and fresh air!

"Daddy, I don't think you should go down the slide!"

One side - completed!

Our three girlies

Not bad for a day's work. It's looking great!
The steps will be on the back side, the slide in the front,
the swings on the right and a tire swing on this beam to the left.
I think there will also be a roof and perhaps a sandbox underneath.
