Swing Set Makeover (Day 4)

Much was accomplished on the swing set today. Papaw was hoping that it would be finished, at least ready for swings, but alas, we had some setbacks near the end. Our legs for supporting the swing beam were too short. Bummer. Had to cut some new legs and reattach the brackets, etc. We are really hoping that tomorrow will be the day!

Papaw's #1 helper today.

Seth started out good this morning, but as the day wore on...well, see below! LOL

Laminating the beam for the tire swing.

Setting the post for the tire swing.

Some baby cuteness - just for fun!

Working on the supports for the roof.

The ladder on the back of the play deck.

I've been helping all along, but here's the proof!

Working on the rafters.

Papaw was pretty pleased with the brackets Jeremiah brought home.

Getting ready to hoist that enormous beam 8 feet into the air. Two men, myself and 2 children.
Difficult, to say the least.

But, where's the little boy who was helping his papaw?
He's up in the Dogwood tree fast asleep!
He wasn't really asleep, but neither was he helping much today. Hmmm.

"Thank You, Daddy, for working hard all day and coming home to work hard some more.
We love you!"

Securing the swing beam. Papaw worked all day without stopping for lunch or anything.
"Thank you, Papaw. We love you, too!"

It still lacks a few bolts to make it ready for swings and we still need to finish the roof and attach the slide,
but I think we're almost finished! Yay!
