Baby Birds and a Bunny

What an exciting two days we have had! On Thursday morning, Abby came running in to tell us that there were 3 baby birds on the ground near the barn. We watched all day and could see the mama bird come and flutter around them and then fly away to a tree. We are guessing they were learning how to fly.

Then, we were sitting outside this afternoon and Abby again came running over to tell us there was a baby bunny behind the barn. We looked over and could see it hopping around but it was kinda stuck in some rolled up fencing. I ran to get the camera and Seth caught it. (I do not endorse catching wild animals, however, he was helping it get unstuck.) Of course, then everyone wanted to hold it. How very exciting to be surrounded by so much wildlife! (In the fall, we typically have deer eating acorns in our front yard.)

Great pictures. I'm sure the children loved all those tiny little creatures. We see moose, bears, turkeys, and foxes on a regular basis, but luckily not in the back yard too often. The girls would love to see baby birds or a rabbit.
