Mission Trip Update

We just wanted to post a brief update about the status of our mission trip. We have just under 3 weeks until we leave and things are coming together. Thank you to all those who have been praying with and for us. Wednesday night after church we were told that our hotel expenses had been taken care of for the week in Cherokee. We still lack a little bit more money for gas and meals (we will be fed each day by the mission, but we don't want to be a burden, so we wanted to donate something toward our meals that week.)

Last night we had another meeting with the missionary/pastor who is putting this together and I can't tell you how excited we all are! We thought we were excited about this opportunity last week, but the more we hear and the closer we get to leaving, the more we can't wait to go! As of now, there are more than 30 adults and children that are going from our church alone! We were at the church again today with many of those who are going and we were cutting out more of the crafts that we will be doing in the VBS that week.

A few prayer requests we have:

• that we would have a sincere love and burden for these children and people to be saved
  
• that the Holy Spirit would already be working and drawing them to Him, so that when we get there and share the gospel, some will be ready to accept Christ as their Saviour
• for the strength to do what God has called us to do and for perseverance (we know we will face difficulties)
• the remaining finances for us to go
  

That's about it for now. We have another meeting on the 28th and possibly a survey trip to Cherokee on the 30th to get our bearings as we will be arriving in Cherokee very late on Sunday night, June 7th. Next week we should know better what areas exactly we will be serving in while we are there, but of course, we have been asked to be flexible and open to whatever jobs need to be done.
